Kid’s birthday parties are usually loud, raucous affairs that work best when supervised by several parents. However that doesn’t always happen. Lots of parents bring over their invited children and just sort of drop them off for a few hours leaving you with too many kids and too little time to make the party fun. The best way to keep things moving at your kid’s birthday party is to get very organized ahead of time, whether or not some of the parents leave their kids at your impromptu babysitting service.
You’ll find that a themed party is almost required for this age group and the manufacturers of party supplies have made it very easy to gather the needed themed materials. You can literally find dozens of different types of decorations, supplies and even games sold online that will all correlate to the same theme. Is your child into Sesame Street? Does your little girl want to be a Disney Princess? You’ll find party kits with many needed supplies all in the same place. Plates, cups, napkins, and tablecloths. Mats, balloons, streamers and expandable centerpieces. So you can save a lot of time buy ordering these kits online, and probably a lot of money.
Be sure to set everything up hours before the party starts. Save yourself time and money by making a sheet cookie with frosting on it instead of the traditional birthday cake. There won’t be any leftover.
Also you’ll want to make up bags with the party favors in them ahead of time. If you know the names of the children attending the party put their names on the bags, so they can find them for themselves. Set up a table to hold all the gifts and have the kids deposit them there when they arrive. Also set up the games beforehand. You can leave out some regular toys and coloring books too. The party doesn’t have to be filled with lots of new things.
